Born and raised in the West Country, Neil has had a passion for cooking since he was 10 years old. After two years at Bath College, where he obtained his City & Guilds in Catering, the Head Chef of Ston Easton Park Country House Hotel recognized Neil’s flare and passion, and Neil obtained his first permanent position as a Chef.
After having spent 3 years at Ston Easton Park and another 16 years at other Country House Hotels and Restaurants in the South West, Neil decided it was time to find his own place and in 2006 purchased The Foxham Inn with his Wife, Sarah.
Neil has always believed in food being as fresh and as local as possible and here at The Foxham Inn it is no different. As well as cooking food, Neil grows fruit, vegetables and herbs in the poly tunnel and garden at the rear of the pub.
Neil also enjoys butchery and purchases whole pigs, lamb, deer, rabbits and wood pigeon from local farmers and game shooters to use on the menu. The Smoke House at the rear of the Pub also allows Neil to smoke produce.
Starters, main courses and desserts are all home made, as are the bread rolls that accompany your meal. The butter has been sourced from a farm in Gloucestershire. The eggs from our free-range chickens are also used within our meals and bread.
Our cheese board consists of English cheeses, preferably from the South West. The flours used in our breads are organic and from Shipton Mill in the Cotswold’s. The meat not butchered by Neil is purchased from Bartlett & Sons in Bath and Walter Rose in Devizes, who source their products either from their own farms or locally.
Fish is purchased from Kingfisher of Brixham. They provide a daily delivery service and Neil will only purchase native, day-boat caught fish. Neil also purchases local crayfish from New Wave Sea Foods in Fairford.
Customers are also enjoying Foxham Inn Foods at home. Smoked fish, meat and bacon can be purchased to take away, as can ice cream. Customers may also order food for dinner parties at home. Food is prepared and supplied with full cooking instructions to allow you to enjoy an evening at home with guests without the work of preparing the meal. Please enquire at the bar with regard to these services.
As well as a delightful place to eat and drink, the Foxham Inn is also able to hold small wedding parties, conferences and other functions. In the warmer months we have a large marquee available for use.
